Is this chick developing OK?

Ive hatched a French Copper Marans chick which is now 5 1/2 weeks old. Im a bit confused as it's about half the size of the other chick I hatched (a cuckoo marans) and it's still 50% covered in down whereas my cuckoo is now completely feathered. Do you get runts in the chicken world?! Im new to raising chicks so ive got nothing to compare it too! Also thinking its a boy due to comb size

It's a cockerel, which is why it is feathering in more slowly. I am not sure why it is half the size of your other chick though.

Yeah it's odd, my other chick is also a cockeral but way ahead of this one. All the pics I see of 5-6 week old chicks they are all pretty much fully feathered...:/

I don't have Marans, but I have had many slow feathering Faverolles cockerels. They look quite similar to yours.

We had a black star (sex-link) that did this, and before too long she had all her feather (mighty pretty too) so I wouldn't worry too much

P.S. Ours was a pullet not a cockerel, I don't know if yours is a cockerel or not but ours was a pullet and it still did this.
