is this chick normal?

i’m not sure what’s quite wrong with our newly hatched chick. is it alright? what is this yellow lump exactly? i’ve never seen this on any of the other chicks we’ve hatched.

It looks to me like the membrane, sorry don't remember exactly what it it called, attaching the chick to the yolk may not have dried properly and it has pulled on it. Their insides come out. If this is the case there is not much you can do other than let it sit quietly and wait to see if it absorbs. Hatching can be so stressful!

it seems a lot more lively then before and was crawling around the incubator more. is this a good sign? does this look better or worse?

It does look like that bit is drying which is good, and if it is moving around that is a good sign. I would leave it to dry and fluffy up and see how it goes
