Is this Cocci?!On Sulmet but still not improving very fast

Thanks everyone for your support - what would I do without this imformative forum?! I still am a bit confused though..
So my little chickie that I have seperated is in with 2 others instead of with the group of 14 so that she can not get pushed aside/trampled etc. I have them all on Sulmet. I don't see any trace of bloody poop but she is still not recovering, I thought she was feeling better the day before by 10% or so and now I feel like she is a bit worse although not on her death bed or anything. She just looks more sunken in around the eyes and laying down more, I can see her chest moving when she is breathing... Could it be something else and not Cocci?

Edited to add that she has now been on Sulmet since Friday night, it is now Sunday eve...no bloody poops at all since Fri ( which I only saw a little bit in the poop like peices of carrot or bell pepper) and she seems to be pooping just fine as there is a lot in her brooder. Just seems to be laying down a lot more and her look seems off..is it just Cocci still and she may not recover from it? But I would assume that she would still be having bloody poos if she was not gonna recover..? Confused..

Did you start her on poly-vis-sol drops? If not, I would definitely do that. I had a hatch a couple of days ago and one of the babies was very sleepy. I put 5 drops of poly-vi-sol in a small plastic lid with about 2 tablespoons of water and all the chicks drank it for the first 24 hours. This baby perked up within a day, but I did take it to the water for a beak dipping about every 2-3 hours for the first 24 hours or so.

CA BEAN,

I'm so sorry you are having these troubles... it's heartbreaking when we do everything we can and still the little sweeties stay ill. It is possible for your bird to be sick and not have blood in the stool. Sometimes cocci damages the intestinal tract to the point where the bird has a malabsorptive disorder. Meaning... the little tyke can't get nutrition from what it's eating. I'm not saying that's what is happening with your bird, but it's a good thing to be aware of. If it's eating and drinking and there's electrolytes in the water... then you are doing what you can and the rest is up to the bird.

Maybe its because the baby is lonely without her buddies. Sounds like she is a tad bit depressed

Maybe put another one in there to keep her company being they are all on the same meds. I hope the little one pulls thru for you.
