Is this considered a Side Sprig?

I was looking at my Bantam Barnevelder cockerel the other day and saw what looks to be a side sprig! I know it's a disqualification to have them and would be really disappointed if that's what it is

I was really hoping to show this guy.
So what do you guys think, Side Sprig?

Hi Peeka, I forgot to respond to your other post sorry... It's hard to tell from the your pic..it may just be a thick spot..he's still young and his comb is filling out. Can you take a picture from the back of the cockerel's head to show both sides of the comb from behind? That might help provide a better perspective on comb shape.

No, that's not a side sprig, it's just a slightly bent point. A side sprig literally grows out of the side of the comb.

Peeka,
I think it looks more like a thick spot on the side and not a side sprig. Sprigs generally stick out more. He's young, just keep watching him..I've had some pretty lumpy combs that straighten out as the cockerel got older. Not a perfect comb, but bantam Barnies are pretty rare. Work with it and select for better combs later on:)

I see what you're talking about now. Still not a side sprig. A sid esprig actually projects out from the side of the comb. What you have is just a thick spot.

Thank goodness!!! Thanks guys, I was really wanting to show him, and now I can!

He's still pretty young and has a lot of filling our to do, but I think he is pretty handsome already.
