I'm wondering, looking at your signature line, If you decided after that last human baby that this 'birthin' babies is easy, so went home and set some eggs? Let me tell you, I have PERSONALLY birthed TWO babies, and these hatches are WAY more stressful!!!

LOL..... my wife gives me a hard time telling me that I am paying more time and attention to the eggs then I am to our new baby... I guess I need to give the humans love too!

I'm new to this site but have been raising chickens for about 2 years now. I just built a homemade incubator (very crude) and was able to hatch 2 new babies. I hope to hatch many more in the future. I now have 15 hens and 1 rooster. 2 Rhode Island Reds; 2 Jersey Blacks; 6 White wyandottes; 2 White Leghorns; 3 of mixed breeds and a mixed breed Rooster. I love this hobby and the eggs are delicious. I made a movie of the hatching egg, so if you get a chance go to:
"
" to see it first hand. Again, I'm new to this site so any pointers from members is appreciated.

Guys freak out over it. They just don't usually admit it. My DH stands there and crows like a rooster over the bator. He says it encourages the chicks and sets and example for the little roos.
