Is this coop big enough for four hens?

Hey all, I know this has been asked to death but I'd just like a second opinion before I buy 2 more hens this weekend (I already have 2). The coop is only used by the hens for sleeping and egg laying as they already have a large fenced area for a run. Inside the coop has 6 nest boxes and each nest box easily fits a fully grown Isa Brown. There's also quite a big area in the centre of it. Cheers!

What are the dimensions? It looks a bit small but without measurements, hard to say.

If it needs to be bigger for the chicken's well being, is it possible to take out some of the nesting boxes (2 boxes would be plenty for 4 birds)?

Yeah all the nest boxes have removable partitions. I removed one of the partitions to allow for more space

Yes, this^^^
...and what is your location?
Climate can play a big part.

That doesn't really count, unless... there will be a covered run that is secure from predators and sheltered from weather?

Look at the dimensions WITHOUT the nest boxes as well as the length of the roost bar. For 4 you're going to want at least 16 sq ft of space plus 4 ft of roost.

If possible (if the nest boxes are only partitioned) you can remove all the partitions leaving only have 1 box (no need for 6 boxes, or even 4, with only 4 chickens), that will buy a little extra space.

Keep in mind that integrating new birds will require more space on top of that as they sort out pecking order. Are you planning to quarantine the new ones and if so, where?
