Is this coop to small for 3 Orpingtons. That is the breed I really want, and after trying to hatch them out with no luck and months of trying to find a breeder who does them. Well Im off tobuy them this weekend but I am worried they will be to big to fit in this coop. So should I go for Pekin (Chocin) instead as I understand that they are smaller.
I want them for the eggs as well as pets. Does anyone else have any other suggestions of breeds for a first timer?

The lenght of the coop is 7 ft. And the width is 4 ft. The garden is fenced of as I want them out in the garden too.

They will be fine in there. They don't need too much space to roost in they snuggle together.

I would agree to letting them out to roam around when you are home. Good Luck

Thankyou everyone for your comments. I am so happy that I can have my Orpingtons. I am looking forward to valentines day for when I get my chickens.

I started with one of these. The coop part is fine for 3 orps but you are gonna need a run. I built one on the side. Yours should be about 10x3 feet for 3 chickens (10sqft per chicken).

Cool my run is 16x5 and I have 8 hens. Nice to know it's the right size. They sure like to get out and scratch around though.
