So, backstory, I run a camp for Kindergarten kids who couldn't attend in person school this year due to pandemic. I used to be a director if a preschool and we would hatch ducks every year for a local farm. I thought it would be fun to do with my camp kids this year. I got the eggs from a different person though and she gave me a mixed bag, including Muscovy ducks because she didn't know they took longer to hatch. She just told me mixed breed when I got the eggs and mentioned Pekin, indian runner, etc.... A few days after I had set them I messaged her to ask for the breeds again because I wanted to make a poster for the camp kids to show duckling to adult duck for each possible breed. THAT'S when she said Muscovy and I was like oh crap. So I've been tracking them so carefully this whole time to make sure I pulled the early ones out in time and left the muscovys in for longer. I had to get a second incubator and everything . Anyway, all that to say, some mix of Pekin, Indian runner, and khaki Campbell. Muscovy next week.
