repeat offenders , change diet, cull if you don’t like it if that doesn’t work. Poorly laying hens make good dumplings.
I have had some egg problems lately, I think it is simply due to the hot weather a week ago (eggs take a while to go through the system), but I have added 3tubs of calcium to the run and the hens are going to town on it. I am wondering if only offering calcium in the coop where they seldom go during the day was not great.
I'd expect the egg to be fine to eat, but I always suggest opening our eggs in a bowl because you never know what is in them. Commercial operations electronically candle their eggs so customers don't get surprises inside. We don't candle like that.
