Is this Feed good

I just bought this feed today and I do not understand how to read this code or date on the bag it is dumor all flock pellet feed. Thank You

I *think* the first 2 numbers are the year and the last 3 are the day, so that would be somewhere around late octobe= it was milled, I think

If I understand what I was googling, the first two digits are the year and the following three are Julian calendar for October 23rd so I'd say its expired from what I can tell.

Correct. That first 5 digits are a "Julian Date", 2-digit year followed by 3-digit day of the year. 24296 is October 22, 2024. It is fairly common for manufacturers to use Julian date labels.

It is the manufacture date. Feeds (that I've seen) never have a "best by" date.

How long you decide to use it is up to you, not the manufacturer. Obviously fresher is better.
