i will be getting some new chicks (leghorns, black australorp, plymouth barred rock) and ducklings (khaki campbells) soon (around 8-10 in total) and want to know if this is okayy to feed them once they get to their laying point? i will be feeding them a 16% layer pellet 24/7 in an automatic feeder unless if its better to ration it out?? then including that i will sprout (fodder) whole oats with some black sunflower seeds or feed it whole and give them some of that for the warmer months. in the colder months i will sprout some whole corn and give it to them also or just raw whole corn (large can worth of them everyday) on top of all of this they will have an extra place where they get their crushed eggshells and they will also get grit, PLUS all our scraps we have a lady who sells us real cheap green veggies and they are great for chickens ! they wont be able to free range a lot but they will a few days every week so could i buy insects or meal worms or so for them? also everynow and then i will add a few other kinds of seeds to the mix i have seen so many others feeding other kinds of seeds and grains so im not sure if this is fine for chickens and ducks? or do you recommend something else or to add or take away something?
