When you thought ants were causing problems did you try to get rid of the ants?

You have to get them away from the ants.

OH no, not ants! OP was it ants, they can kill young birds~ Little confused though on why you think fowl pox when you knew you had an ant problem. Are you sure the ants DIDN'T cause this?

My sincerest apologies to the OP for the interuption on an Emergency thread. I truly hope by putting this back on the forum, that you will get the help you need for your turkey.

To many others who have participated inappropriately so far...This thread has been cleaned up. Please review the rules of BYC here https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/misc.php?action=rules

OK, come on, guys. I don't know a thing about turkeys, but I have been dealing with fowl pox on my chickens all summer, and those pics do not even faintly resemble the lesions I have been seeing. Evidently, or so I gather from a reply to a deleted post, the OP has been having problems with ants. Could we please find out what kind of ants, and how extensive the problem is, where exactly it is, and so forth? There are ways to deal with ants that will not kill the birds; DE and poisons have been my salvation in this area so far, but there are other approaches, and I do not know that DE is a cure-all, at all. And, my chickens ignore the poisoned hills, at least, so far; this is not everyone's experience, I know. My chickens don't eat the ants, either, but I know that many do.

I have dealt with fire ants for about 20 years now, maybe more. There are controls, but there is no end to them, that I have found. I am sure there is a department of the federal government that would love to know what it is, if you have found one.

If that is what all the flaming is about. I did not read the thread before it was edited.

Let's see if we can help this person, please.

I'm sorry but that looks exactly like what my turkeys did when they had pox. Sorry to contradict, but....
