Is this frostbite and is it severe enough to need treatment?

I'm glad it wasn't disease or anything! Were you able to separate the birds who were fighting?
yeah, fighting birds are great. mine forget all about humans and I can just easily pick them up. lol.

not great long-term obviously.

the funny (funny weird not funny haha) thing was that they weren't with the hens? who leaves the hens to go fight over hens?

avarys comb was bloodier and snowflake had more blood on his feathers so I suspect snowflake was winning lol. so he's locked up now and avary is loose still. I don't have a plan long-term though. I'd intended to keep them both.

and it's only going to get worse as I sell more hens.

but they're also 10 months so maybe this was inevitable regardless of hens.

I think my current plan is to open one up with the 5 ladies who don't solidly have a rooster for a bit and see if re-proportioning the ladies helps

Ok. 👍
When roosters fight, they don't always do it near the hens. I've had some do it on a totally different side of the yard. The hens don't really care if they're fighting, it's just between the roosters.
