Yes, That's what I experienced with one of my hens blessed with a rooster sized comb.
Luckily she only had a touch on a few tips. It's totally healed now.

I fixed all the inconsistencies in the coop the other day. This is him today. Can mild frostbite reverse? Because his comb is much more red now, less black. Ill post the old pic below the new one for comparison. Thanks for all your help

Man i was a nervous wreck! He does get purple often when he is mating. Glad he is doing better. Hope all y'alls chickens fare well this winter as well.I'm thinking you had a very tiny amount of frostbite, but I'm also thinking your roo's comb tips darken depending on the temperature. Mine does the same, scares the crap out of me.![]()
