I've been seeing this for the last couple of days, but not really sure what's going on. Is this a good thing or would it be a bad thing if the boys weren't separate to the girls?

I've noticed different behaviours between the boys and the girls at different times, but like I said I don't really understand this. Thanks.

Looks like they are trying to work out who is dominant, if they weren’t separated they’d likely fight, when my birds flare their neck feathers like that they usually get into a squabble

They would fight if not for the barrier. Can you block that off so they can’t see each other? I’d be concerned one would get the beak caught and damaged in the 1/2 inch HC if the behavior escalates to lunging.

They don't call it cockfighting for nothing, and some will fight themselves bloody through a fence. I think this will get worse if you do not change something.

Wait is one. of the birds a hen? Do you have the cockerels in a bachelor pen? I do think blocking off the sight would be important.

He's the youngest of my two cockerels and she is usually one of the top couple of hens. Not sure, but think she's gone down the order since she started molting. Normally she wouldn't acknowledge him, nor he her, but he's also coming into his voice too. Guess he's hit puberty. Not sure I could block it off, though I have tried some methods. I'll keep an eye on them though. I think she starts it in the morning, then they don't care for the rest of the day.

A piece of an oatmeal box? Or would that be too small?
Oatmeal box? That's really random.
I'd go with...
