Is this guy considered a Blue Silkie or a Splash?

Ok. Here is one of my splash hens, very dirty (sorry, no time to bathe), outside on a windy day (probably considered very windy in most other locations).

Here is a dark blue hen (she is lighter than she looks in the picture)...

Here is a very young (less than 1.5 mo) black cockerel with some brown miscoloration on hackle that I sold as pet quality...

I hope this helps some.

There is no such thing as "blue splash." It is simply splash.

Sorry, Actually in the reading I have been doing it is called "White Splashed" I got it stuck in my head as Blue Splashed since in the genetic explanation i was reading it went together that the bird is White splashed with Blue. This is the text i am referring to written by the foremost genetic breeder specifically for feathers.
"Bl Bl which is white splashed with blue."
"Breeding black (bl bl)with white splashed (Bl Bl) is the only way to produce 100% blues (Bl bl). "
"From a sales point of view the white splashed pelts are not in much demand..."
In every instant that the Splashed is mentioned it is referred to as White Splashed, and as you can see once referred to as White splashed with Blue, although I do think that was added for descriptive purposes rather than as a formal name.
This writing is published but I am not certain it was intended to be that strictly formal. In the context of these forums I see no reason to be even that formal or the need to be much of any level of accurate is necessary. I do thank you for calling it to my attention though as I already had it stuck in my head as Blue Splash rather than White Splashed. Genetically it still seems the bird is named backwards though. How could you be be splashed with a non color?
At any rate my interest in the Splashed is to breed Dun, now you can really go to town with that one. lol
