You really should nip that habit in the bud...unless you like to clean nests, or eggs, a lot.

Thanks for the link! I think they’ve been moving to the bars since one started laying, but I may just make some changes to ensure they don’t get the nesting boxes dirty!

Such a pretty blue!!! I have one EE and I love her dearly, but she lays a cream brown egg. Her personality makes up for it, but omg, look at that color in your hand.... sigh. Onward & forward. Chicken math has caught up with me I cannot get more chickens!

Thanks everyone! A second one a bit bigger today! Another hen is squatting when being pet, so hopefully soon she’ll be laying too. Woo! No hope for our oliver egger any time soon. She’s an odd bird. My husband said she’ll probably lay rocks.

Some are just late bloomers too. My sister and I have sister silkies from the same parents hatched the same day. Mine layer her first egg in December. Hers just last week. We thought she might be a he lol.
