antams to try for chocolate cochins

Porcelain is a lavender base with yellow tint with mottling. I can't see any of this in either picture. But certain colors are hard to get a good picture of.

Thanks Danny, she certainly isnt porcellaine then lol.She is more of a pearly grey but the colour doesnt show up well her feathers also have a sparlkly look to them if that makes sense

The first hen looks khaki; the 2nd looks lavender (or possibly splash--is that a dark feather in the tail? If so, splash). As was stated, sometimes it is difficult to get photos to show what is easily seen in person.

Khaki carries two copies of the dun gene whereas chocolate has one. Except of course that there is also the choc gene, which c reates a colouring similar to dun-based chocolate. Dun is incompletely dominant; choc is sex-linked recessive. Khaki cannot be achieved with choc, only with dun. Fawn seems to refer to either khaki or chocolate--I never have figured out why the standards committee did that.

yes the first hen is Khaki an and if bred to a black roo you should get dun witch here in the states is sometimes called chocolate... i would say the second hen is splash so if bred to the same black roo you would get blue...
