Is this normal behaviour?

my cockerel has started lying down like he’s been hit with a sniper round. Anyone know why?

How often? My chickens do that when their hot, cold, bored, or ready to make me think they are dead. Though if it is happening often I would be worried (as in he is normally just sitting on the ground like that). If it is a once every so often thing I wouldn’t be worried.

First time I’ve noticed it, it is the first warm day we have had in a while so could be that. Will keep an eye on the lad.

They do tend to do it more regularly when they are hot. It just sounds like he was trying to cool himself down.

He looks like he's sun bathing.

It looks quite alarming until you're used to it, but it is normal chicken behavior.

I think it's good sign to see a cock/erel loungin' in the sun.
Means he's relaxed and feels safe.
