Is this normal development for an egg on day 8?

Sorry they're so big...

. But the duckling looks dead.. The pics don't show it well, but the "blood spot" is bigger than a 50 cent piece....

I'm not seeing a blood ring, but there does seem to be quite a bit of veining. If it's a quitter, the veins will go away fairly quickly. If there is veining, put it back in the bator and check in a couple of days to make sure that it's still developing. You should start to see movement any time now, too.
