Is this normal for my crested pekin?

I've never had a crested duckling before, only chicks. Is it normal for her crest to come in like this? It's so pronounced in the side. She's about 6 weeks old. I like it, I think it's kind of cute, but I want to be sure it's ok.

Based on my understanding, it's just a hole in her skull, so I don't know if anything about that is "normal" in terms how that tissue develops. I personally wouldn't be concerned with it, however I've never had a crested duck before, so I'm far from an expert.

I have a crested duckling that is almost as old as yours. The gap in the skull is at the top of the skull. The crest may seem off to one side because of the direction the feathers have grown in. Mine has what looks like a big cowlick on one side, so her crest parts and looks like a comb over;-)

She had just gone for a swim and was still wet

Since being crested is a defect there is no "normal" crests...However, I still love mine she's lopsided too!

Oh my gosh, she's amazing! Haha! I love it!

OK, phew! I wasn't sure if something was potentially wrong with her head, like an extra hole in her skull. Back in high school, we had crested ducks, but all of them had perfectly round poofs as though coiffed by a professional groomer. I'm tempted to take some of her pictures and color them in Photoshop to make the crest look like a hat and call her online persona Danielle Boone.
