My female rabbit, Brownie (cho. mini-rex) started pulling fur today. She hasn't made a nest, but started pulling fur. This will be her second litter. Her first litter she made a nest the day before she gave birth, and had 6 healthy kits. This time, we've breeded her with a broken chocolate polish, and they were put together last week Saturday, so she should give birth around August 7th, if I'm correct. Is it normal for them to be pulling fur this early? It's really only been a week. I don't want her to give birth prematurly... any ideas would be helpful :)

Not sure. Our doe pulled fur a week early on her first litter but the babies didn't make it. On her second litter she pulled fur for weeks it seemed and never made a nest at all. We collected all the fur each day and then when she had the babies made her a nest and lined it with all the fur she pulled and put the babies in it. I'm no expert on rabbits for sure so hopefully someone else here can help more.

Alright. It's just her first litter she made the nest the day before... and this is REALLY early. Maybe she just wanted to change it up.

It could be a false pregnancy - does often pull fur at the end of one. But without a more extensive track record for this doe, there's really no telling. I'd take a "wait and see" approach on this one.
