Ok me and my family are now trying to find a way to separate the roaster but they are not fenced in so we have to find some kind of crate. Also thank you guys so much for your help i really appreciate it. One last question sorry what good protein to give them while they are molting again thank so much.

Good job:) There is no way that I know of to protect the neck/head feathers from being pulled or rubbed off due to mating. The rooster can't help it, he has to hang on somehow;)

Separating him will give the girls a rest. How old is he? If he is young, he will get better with age. Some things to look at would be trimming nails and/or spurs, but most hens do suffer some damage, just the way it is.
I don't "think" you mentioned how many ladies you have, sometimes if there are not enough girls there can be overmating, but roosters do have favorites that get mated more too.

Can you make a simple fence out of chicken wire to enclose him in for part of the day? I've found that roosters are most "active" first thing in the morning and late evening. He will fuss if separated, so be ready for that.

My rooster Crush is around one and half years old. He and my hens were given to me so all i know is that they are all around 1 years old . i have 16 hens and one rooster. My rooster don't have spurs i don't know why but all he has is nails i will talk to my mom about helping me trim his nail it's not going to be fun. crush is a big fighter. That really sucks about not being able to protect my hens head but i am still glad i know now so thank you. My rooster does have many favorites the picture i sent of judy with the messed up back is one of his favorites. Once i obtain the money i am going to seperate crush for a few days. Thank so much again for all the help i am trying to learn about my chickens i have only had them for around a month and i want to learn so that my babies live a long and healthy life. :D
