Is this normal?

After I went to get 2 Australorp chicks and came home with them plus 2 Barred Rocks and 2 Lavender Orpingtons my husband cut me off. It is not my fault the breeder lives less than 5 minutes from our house...At least they were all pullets?

I believe I'm in good company here on BYC. I no longer feel alone in my obsession. :wee

Can I please have one more bantam? Just one? I swear it will be my last. :p

I hate chicken math.

Mine love watermelon, I never thought about freezing them. That's a great idea! Do you cut them in wedges before you freeze?
big wedges with lots of fruit on the rind. I set them out about 20 mins to thaw just a little and then set them out. Mine won’t touch frozen veggies. Any frozen fruit and they lose their minds!!

I'm banning myself from craigslist. That place is nothing but trouble. That's how I ended up here in the first place.

I found a hen on the pets section for $5 rehome last week - the girl's next door neighbor disagreed with chicken ownership in the neighborhood (she had to have approval from both direct neighbors, one said yes, one said no). We call her Funky Chicken, not even sure what kind she is (need to take a picture and get some suggestions. I'm sure she's mixed). She laid me an egg the first morning at the farm too lol. She currently hangs out with our game bantams.

Found 2 hens I wanted yesterday on CL, fiance had to be the one to say NO lol.
Today there's a mallard drake for free ... I want a trio of mallards to add to the farm so bad. But its about an hour away from where we are, guess that's my sign to say no to just a drake and wait

Couple hatched Cayuga ducklings getting picked up tonight...
100 roosters arrive in the next couple days
100 broilers arrive in about 2 weeks
1 Emu arrives in 2 weeks
8 Australorps & 8 Speckled Sussex arrive in about 3 weeks

On top of the 120-something we already have  No chicken/bird problem here at alllll :lau
