I've had plenty of newly hatched chicks, but none that have developed wings like this in the first 5 days!!!A couple of my newly hatched mutts have wings just like that!! I was wondering if it denotes gender as well! I hope someone can tell us what is going on. These are my first hatched eggs so I have no clue.

ok, nevermind! no stress about it.Info rite you I don’t have the bird anymore and may have to try to dig out old photos.
Cute little buggers though! As of yesterday it appears that the different parts of the wings developed at a rather different rate than normal. It would seem now that the wing feathers are coming in to complete the wing in a more normal fashion. It's hard to get photos as these chicks never stop moving, but I did my best!

So here is the chick now at 3 weeks old. His (her?) wings are much more developed than the rest of the chicks, but normal. One of the other chicks, I call her the "orange" chick stood right in front of me when I was taking photos. I took a shot of her front and turned to take one of another chick. I heard a "cheep" that was quite loud and turned to find that she turned around for me to photo her back! True story! Here is the two of them (out of six).
