Is this normal?

Not sure where to post this but I had to hose down the underside of my chicken because she was all sticky from sitting on egg yolks and you can see her skin is that a normal thing to see on a wet bird or something else?

Yes, hens will pluck feathers off their chest for better contact with eggs in the nestboxes.

I don't think shes broody just happened to be a lot of eggs in the box and some got crushed and she got sticky

She might not be broody yet, but she looks like she's wanting to set on eggs soon. This looks pretty normal to me

Hens don't need to be broody to follow the urge to pluck the chest feathers.
