Is this Normal?

Found this in the nest this morning... Only been laying a few weeks

sorry, i meant the small one... the larger one is the normal egg, I should have explained better.

Eggs will be smaller when the girls first start laying. It is normal. I have a few that are still laying small eggs, they will get bigger.

Yes completely normal. Every once in a while I get a really small egg.

I love those tiny eggs- I call them "luck" eggs! Keep mine in a birds nest that I found....

we had 2 that were laying we think... maybe this is from a 3rd

Two of my girls layed really small eggs for the first 6 weeks or so. My EE's eggs have pretty much become "normal" sized, but my GLW still lays fairly small eggs (have been laying since late Feb./early March).

I thought you meant the big one at first...

Ouch, wouldn't that hurt! But yes, this is normal and can even happen when it is not a hen's first egg, though it usually happens when it's her first egg laid.
