IS THIS NORMAL???????

My cournix quail hen, Pip, has been honking really loudly at me when I go see her, and sometimes it comes out like a shriek like an eagle! Is there something wrong with her?

She could be stressed or otherwise angry, but I am sure that somebody can answer that better than me. Animals can make unexpected noises when aggressive, though; I used to own a rabbit that would make loud, honk-like noises whenever I tried to touch it.

They usually vocalize when something is stressing them or they want something. Usually when something is truly wrong you won't hear a peep.

Ok thanks, but she is really friendly and stands all over my feet and eats out of my hands, so i dont think she would be stressed.

She has like 3 brain cells so stresses have to be more immediate. She doesn't have the brain power to sit around and think about them and still be stressed later from something that bothered her this morning. If it is stress then it will be immediate to the situation when you hear her vocalize. Otherwise it's almost always when they want something, like food water or treats. If you give her treats a lot she may just be begging for more.
