Is this ok need help

What should I do? I don’t want to add too much niacin?

You have a few options, add one to two tablespoons of nutritional yeast to a cup of feed until. their ten weeks, or, add one 500mg mg tablet per ten/twelve gallons of water, offer B complex over treats, or feed them a waterfowl feed that has an adequate amount of niacin that a niacin supplement wouldn't be needed in the first place.

I did some research and it actually said that 500 mg is too much? I’m confused now

The brands contains 0.005mg, or (0.5mg), not 500mg.

Correct me if I wrong, but is t it like vitamin C, they use what they can and excrete the rest.

Yes, its water-soluble and isn't easily overdosed, but contrary to a LOT of people's belief if you were to give them too much, they don't just pee out the excess.

Refer to this study in which a flock of meat birds were given 160mg of niacin per pound of bodyweight, in the study, the birds showed weakened bone structure, as well as weakened mechanical movement. So the point is, yes they can.

Also realize humans can overdose on niacin, as well as dogs and cats.

I already mixed a crushed version into their food. I did the measurements you said. What should I do? Should I go buy the tablets and mix it with their food that has the yeast, or should I just continue with what I’m doing. Again, I don’t want to give them too much

Perhaps you misconstrued my earlier first post, but the tablets you have do not contain 500mg of niacin, they contain 0.5mg of niacin, which is nowhere near enough.

I think you should read these threads,

So I should buy niacin pills and put it in their food then? Of course with the correct measurements.

I think my read of all the comments is that the tablets won't be doing them any harm and will give them some niacin.

On the upside, there are other b vits in the tablets - I think thats a good thing.

On the other side, they probably are not going to get enough niacin from these tablets so some additional source would be great.

You could give them peas to supplement their feed and get some nutritional yeast or pure brewers yeast once able.
