is this ok?

You can use marbles or river rock (dollar store) in the bottom. And don't pack them too tight. Little beaks and bills need to get in and drink and for the duck, to clean her nostrils. I also wouldn't keep the light over the water. They need zones warm, not as warm... They'll move to regulate. With the light over the water, they have to get wet. If they're not playing in the water, it doesn't have to be warm.

Some people also use butter tubs with the lid on and a hole cut out of the lid, just big enough for their heads to fit in to drink. If you do a search for waterers on BYC, there should be a pic!

Oh, what about niacin? I heard you should supplement. How should I dose it? I have the brewers yeast flakes and I was thinking of coating some wax worms and maybe cooked rice in it and letting the duck eat it as needed:)

Brewers yeast just needs to be sprinkled over feed 1 tab to 1 cup of feed for 10 weeks.
