Is this pasty butt or umbilical cord? Pic attached

Hi everyone,

My wife and I just moved to some acreage and recently got some chicks. This is entirely new to us.

Due to our inexperience, we are unable to determine if one of our chicks has a case of pasty butt or if this is a still-attached umbilical cord.

We’re afraid to mess with it and injure the chick if it is an umbilical cord. Please see the attached pic. What is your opinion?

Looks like umbilical cord leftovers. That should dry and just disappear. If so, that should be right below its anus as you're looking at it from the behind.
