Is this poop concerning?

There's something about the bright coffee-coloured ring in the first one that seems off to me. But the second one is also...kinda diarrheic?

For context, this rooster is on antibiotics (cephalexin) for a skin infection. I'm afraid this could be causing this kind of poop and I wonder how normal this is and if this is a reason to stop the treatment. Can't reach out to the vet until next week.

Antibiotics mess with humans in a digestive way so I wouldn’t be surprised if they do the same to chickens. Usually this isn’t a reason to quit taking them.

Dang. I can't get him to eat more. His previous "owners" got him used to eat corn. Just corn.

I've been trying to incorporate layer feed in his diet, but he doesn't like it. He only eats a little and moves on.

The vet says he's probably lacking protein. How else could I provide this protein?

I thought bugs/worms but I let him free roam and he's not much into foraging and scratching either?, probably because he spent most of his life in a cage until now? I don't know.

I've never had a chicken so selective with food before (I recently found out he doesn't like cabbage and I was flabbergasted).

You can also feed them meat and fish. Mine are on a meat-based mash and during molt I give them occasional sardines. You can try putting some scrambled eggs, meat or fish on his regular feed and seeing if that helps entice him.

I wouldn't feed him layer, excess calcium isn't good for roosters. They don't lay eggs.
My grandpa used to feed his chickens nothing but corn, which I put a stop too after researching chicken diets.

Try him with a can of Tuna as a protein source, here, & there. Then some mushy chick feed.

Watery balanced chicken feed, either layer, if you have laying hens, or an all flock or chick starter feed if not, would be what I would offer him. Make it fresh twice a day. That usually makes chicken feed more interesting to them. A small amount, about 1/4 of a scrambled egg daily or a bit of tuna would be good as well. Don’t give in and feed him corn or scratch, since that is like feeding candy bars to a child. Not nearly enough protein or other nutrients he needs.

Thanks, guys. The vet recommended layer feed to start, but we will switch to chick starter feed soon.

Watery/mushy feed has certainly been more attractive to him, but he's still not very interested. I mixed it with scrambled eggs, but the amount he eats is... pretty disappointing. I don't know what his previous owners fed him, but he's like... addicted to corn and bread. He's not even interested in vegetables, other than tomato.

The vet told me to add mushy premium puppy feed to his diet once a week. Will try that.

In the meantime, I'm kinda worried because I've never seen a crop so... small and deflated. I mean, he's a slender guy anyway (probably an Old English Game hybrid), but sometimes it looks like his crop is sinking in his chest. It looks a bit better at evening, as it's supposed to, but I really can't believe that, as a chicken, he's not into foraging and eating all day.
