OK so now I am SOOO TOTALLY CONFUSED (not by you). The 3 that I bought at one store as Black Sex Link look a lot like the last few in yer pics. And I have no idea where the 2 supposed EE's that I bought at the other store are.
Guess I'll just have to wait n see when they produce friut.

We had 9 black sexlinks. Some were almost all black, a couple had a gold neck and chest, and one had a LOT of red/brown covering her body. Most had grey legs, but the one with the most brown on her had yellow/grey legs. Black sexlinks do have a single/straight comb. Here's a some pics for you:

This first pic was taken during their ugly stage - a couple weeks after we got them. We bought them from the feed store at about 4.5 weeks of age - they were cramped in a brooder cage and they had broken feathers from being picked at.

Hey IronImagery!!! I am forcing you to be my friend haha!! Anyways, I am not quite sure where pics of different combs are, but they are real easy to tell apart. Standard combs have like "fingers" that point up, while peacombs are kind of warty, lumpy looking things. The pictures MikasGirl (my daughter) put up show peacombs. Your RIRs have standard combs, hopefully that makes sense. You are going to be a chicken expert here soon!

Well Kim I can see that you are not very picky about yer friends are ya? lol I went out tonight and looked and they all look the same to me right now sept the 2 roos. I am really starting to think I will just have to wait till they fruit and see if I get any color.
Thanks Rob

BTW must be nice living at some of the best dunes around.

Most of your chicks do have straight combs - at least the ones that have visible combs in the pics do. You can also see the straight combs on my BSLs (pictured above).

Here's what a pea comb on a 7-8 week old pullet looks like:

Hey Rob! I feel we are on a first name basis, haha

Let me know what you end up with, pm me or something. The dunes are beautiful, and I actually live in a little fishing village called Charleston, that is part of Coos Bay. The ocean is spectacular, but sometimes it is too foggy out for my chickens

I am in love with my EEs, that's probably why I am like" you WILL have EEs, Rob!". OK, so if you didn't get any this time, hows about next spring??

BTW, in looking through your threads I have officially decided I want a red sex-link (or 10), they are some gorgeous ladies, aren't they? I promise I won't steal anymore of your threads....but keep 'em comin'!
your new friend ~ kim

Well Kim if I ever get it figured out what I have for sure I might consider a little trade. I am so confused about what I have. The only thing I am sure of is that I have 1 red sex link and 2 BR hens all stolen (not really) from my neighbor and 3 Bantams. The rest at this point are anybodys guess and there have been many of those. I do have a couple (in my 8 wks) that I think are RSL and they are very nice big girls.
