Is This Ready for Ducks?

Hey all! I moved a few months ago (from and live in Bozeman, MT) to a place where the shed and pond were clearly used for birds before, but I’m not sure if it was chickens, ducks, or maybe even geese.

My plan:
  • Use the big circle area inside the shed as a straw bedding/sleeping spot.
  • Maybe also use the wooden box section with mats as extra bedding if needed - would add straw.
  • Keep food/water on the rubber mat side so the straw stays dry.
  • Planning to rescue/re-home 6 adult female ducks (Black Swedish) — or possibly ducklings in February when they’re available locally.

Questions:
  • Does this setup look ready for ducks?
  • What would you change or add?
  • Any tips for keeping the doorway clear of straw (it’s a dog-igloo style door)?

Would love to hear what you think and how you’d set it up! I want to make sure I'm ready for ducks and give them a good home <3
