Now that everyone sits in a gaming chair all day. If people who did hard manual labor all their lives have the posture of a drinking straw in their old age I can only imagine that people my age are going to turn into shrimps when they're actually old😭
Its true!! I feel like an old person saying it, but kids today are weak!

Just curious because I live in the south but I was raised with Midwestern manners, I say yes please and no thanks or I use yes and no and then end the interaction with a thank you, also I smile. Since I live in the south it's not uncommon for some older southern person to glare at me and say "you mean yes ma'am?" like I've done something wrong😂
Is it rude to use the wrong manners?
I usually use yes please and no thank you.

Glare back at them and ask if they're criticizing your culture.

I don't care to fuel the boomer fire of "kids these days"
I have a family member that likes to say this, and I'll admit, it irks me. There's nothing wrong with "kids these days". People are like water or electricity; they follow the path of least resistance. So your Grand-pappy Cornelius would have been just as likely to use AI to write his term papers as anyone else born in this day and age. Sad, but true. We should be mad at ourselves for allowing such a complacent, lazy society and parenting threshold.

Okay, soapbox over. So I'm a "yes, please" "no, thank you" kinda gal, but I'll use sir or ma'am to address a stranger in public.
