I have a family member that likes to say this, and I'll admit, it irks me. There's nothing wrong with "kids these days". People are like water or electricity; they follow the path of least resistance. So your Grand-pappy Cornelius would have been just as likely to use AI to write his term papers as anyone else born in this day and age. Sad, but true. We should be mad at ourselves for allowing such a complacent, lazy society and parenting threshold.

Okay, soapbox over. So I'm a "yes, please" "no, thank you" kinda gal, but I'll use sir or ma'am to address a stranger in public.
I honestly imagine that there are cave drawings that basically say "kids these days". There's truly nothing wrong with kids these days anymore than there was something wrong with us when we were kids or our grandparents when they were kids.

I think social media has done a number on kids. They are often very bad at face-to-face communication, problem solving that involved team work, and handling criticism. This is based on my experience working with them. They often don’t want to ask for help but when it’s offered they view it as a “micro aggression” (whatever that is). Really it’s just that when you start a new job you don’t know exactly how to do it and have to be taught. And that’s ok. It’s not a personal judgement.

But, again, that is because they shouldn’t be on social media in the first place.

Kids these days... using pointed sticks to kill a saber-tooth tiger. In my day, all you needed was a good pair of strong hands!

This is so true. I was training someone just the other day and it was all of these things. I said to be careful doing xyz and she got very defensive.

My kids are well behaved, and polite. We’re in the south, and heavy with please and thank you. Ma’am and sirs. I don’t do the “make them hug someone even a family member” if they don’t want to. That’s ridiculous in my opinion. And my kids aren’t on social media, but they do/have picked up things that confusing me. What does skibidi mean? What’s the difference between rizz and drip? And What did Ohio do???

I agree with that completely. I think I am better than most (look at me being Mr better than everyone else ) because I do stuff to fix that for myself. I used to be horrible with communication so I chose to join speech and debate to get better with it and improve myself. I still don’t feel like I am great with team work but even past the communication skills the criticism I receive from doing it really is helpful with learning to see it as a guide to help you not an attack to set you back

I'm hoping someone younger comes and answers these questions about skibidid and such. Cause I am very curious about these new words
