Is this Rude????

I agree rude but not a friend breaking deal. However, I would not invite that person over or out until they (on their own) found a way to make it up to me. I never promise things because I know any second I could get a migraine or whatever,so I don't want to disappoint. If I do promise I go no matter what(unless we are infectious, lol)

I hope you made it clear to your friend that you bought extra food just for them,BUT you are more upset over the reason of the cancelation.Life is to short to dance around the truth.Be blunt in a polite way then step back and see what they will do.A good friend will find a decent way to make up for disappointing you.

Enjoy all the meals you will make from the extra food! Lol, you could give your friend some food showing what they missed out on.Me, I would keep the food and wait for the apology in action.

Sounds like my sister! She broke just about every plan we ever had together. Sometimes we would be at a restaurant waiting for her to show and the phone would ring - guess what, it's my sister - "We're not going to be able to come, I'm not feeling well." After about the hundredth time, we quit making plans.

RUDE! I ask people for dinner-if they cancel last minute..I give them another try...If they cancel again -I will not ever ask again...Typically though, when I ask folks over for dinner it's in groups so that if one cancels-I know there still be people coming over to eat all the food..It doesn't make me feel any better getting bagged on though:(
