Is this Rude????

Trust me if it was something like that I would have packaged up the food and taken it to them, it is not that at all......

Then definatly rude.

I know around here everything is tight. If we invited someone, spend extra money to make the meal, extra time with my wife being disabled... then they waited til the last minute to cancil, I'd be upset.

I am lucky I get a great discount at work (HoneyBaked Ham) but still, had I known it was me and hubby only, I already had a ham and Turkey breast in the freezer. I would not have bought the 13lb turkey or $4.00 bag of potatoes, or the 17.00 dessert...... $17.00 would have bought some hay for my horses

Do not let that ruin your day. Enjoy time with your family and you`ll have extra treats for the rest of the week.

Oh the Dessert is awesome, since plans changed Hubby and I had a piece tonight. I can highly recommend Lemon Creme Cake from HoneyBaked, it is Awesome! But thing is, we do not normally eat stuff like this, our normal dessert is yogurt.

I am more hurt than anything, feel like , while I was thinking about others (who have had a rough few weeks. healthwise) and I was trying to be a friend, I have been treated like a casual aquaintance........

It will be a nice day, one to enjoy my hubby and a day off. I must return to work on Friday.

If you were not so far away I would come and eat the food for them.

It is rude and inconsiderate.

Did they SAY they were going to come, and then say, sorry we can't make it? If they had not responded, then yes, not giving you an answer is not really polite, but not at all on a par with saying yes, than at the last minute renigging. If there is no RSVP, then you don;t plan on them being there.

Yes it is rude. Usually people who pull that crap have never done a large dinner and have no concept of the cost or effort involved!

Yes rude, with the obvious exceptions of course. It would not be a friend breaker but I would not put the invite out again.
