I haven’t used this run for a while and lots of grass grew and took over. Is it safe for them to pick at tall grass?? Need replies asap because they are already in it.

As long as you have checked to make sure no predators have been digging around perimeter, it should be fine. They will have the grass scratched up before long anyway.View attachment 3138803

I would also make sure there are no morning glories or other nightshade plants in it.View attachment 3138803

How should I provide it?Be certain they have grit available!
As long as there are small pebbles or rocks on the ground they will be fine. They will also find them while scratching around. How should I provide it?
Unless the earth/soil is all clay, it's probably got sufficient grit in it already. The chickens will scratch to find it--small rocks of just the right size to swallow to be the "teeth" in their gizzard that helps to grind their food. If you aren't sure if the ground has enough already, you might provide them some coarse sand or fine gravel, with grain- to pea-sized rocks. How should I provide it?
