Is this safe to give my birds?

My Quail chickens n ducks? It's organic barley seeds that have the hull on it.. I did not have success growing it into grass.

My husband brought home barley a few years ago that had spilled from the train along side the tracks, don't worry he works there, we fed that, no one died, I would toss it in the run, either they will eat it or plant it, I can't see any harm as long as it wasn't treated in any manner, no pesticides or herbicides.

Chickens are pretty smart about what to eat, toss a handful and see what they do, wait a day, if they liked it and seem fine go for it, that's what I would do.
