Has anyone tried this yet? If so, could i see the photos?
I am trying to obtain hybrids with high production of both meat and eggs, with a color, from mahogany to dark orange to black, then I will try to cross these hybrids with a local milleflour breed to reinvigorate them and increase production and growth, then with other crosses I will try to select the Milleflour coloration
I'm undecided whether it would be worth using Isa Brown Hens (since they are the most common here in italy) with an Austrolorp or Jersey Giant rooster. I'd like to use Austrolorp hens with a Rhode Island rooster, but I can't find any pure Rhode island where I live. Does it make any difference if I use a rooster or a hen of one breed or the other?

In your first generation with BA or Jersey Giant, your chicks will likely be all black because of the dominant black gene.

I have used RIR in my population. G1 with Jersey Giant and BA all were black. G2 they were split, regardless of the direction of the cross.

Several generations later, xBA (the other bird is the great-grandfather)
