Hi everyone! My rooster has a limp. He is acting completely normal otherwise (eating, drinking water, exploring, etc). I searched online and it says that sometimes a limo is caused by scaly leg mites. Now I’m paranoid and thinking my rooster probably has that? He could also have just sprained it in accident running or jumping, not sure. I attached some pictures of his legs. Can someone tell me whether they think he has scaly leg mites?

Yes, he has scaly leg mites. But that may not be the reason for the limp. Do you notice any swollen joints in his leg? He might have a sprain. It is very hard to see the legs well on a feather-footed chicken though. I would use some vaseline, mineral oil, castor oil, Nustock Cream or baby oil on his legs and feet and rub it in well at least twice a week for a couple of months to smother the leg mites until new healthy scales grow in.
