Is this scaly leg mites?

no, I don't think so. My roo also had those red spots on his feet...I think they are just pigmentation. My roo did not start to develop them until almost a year old. You can't tell very well from this pic, but the spots on his feet were just as red as the ones in your pic.

With scaly leg mites the scales lift up. I have not seen reddened areas like that with scaly leg mites.

red feet can be hormones but all I know about it is from reading threads like this one (see above thread)

Is the red area puffy it looks like it is in the pic?
