Is this something to be worried about?

Hello! I have a mixed flock of Barred Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds and Black Australorp. They are just about 11 months old.

Since their production has picked up in the spring, I have been getting about an egg a day with (what looks like to me) calcium desposits in the shell. I assume it is only one hen, but I have no idea who.

No one has been acting I'll, so I didn't think much if it until today, when I found this mess in the nesting box.

The have no been free ranging over the winter, have been bedding on straw and no really receiving any treats. I have not been offering them oyster shells since this started a few weeks ago, but nothing changed.

Is this something to worry about?

This is their feed label too.

Thanks for any help!!

Definitely calcium deposits.
How long has this been going on, in weeks?
It may smooth out....or not.
Someone's got a glitchy shell gland.

Try to find out which bird, if you've got time to stalk the nests.
As long as no one is acting ill, I'd not worry too much...
....not that much can be done anyway.
Removing OS might help, she may have been gorging on it.
Do you provide granite grit too?

Are those pics the same egg, both ends are affected?
Is that label from the bag you are using now?

Yes, just one hen and that is just in egg. Only on one end.
It is the smart type of fees, but I took the photo of the label months ago concerned the date printed on it.
They do not have granite grit, but they have plenty of sand/gravel around.
About 4 weeks I would say, but it has been getting progressively worse.
Thanks for the reply!
