Every night after the chickens are in the coop. If I walk outside, one of my chickens bolts out of the coop and runs to me, she squats down for a pet and makes me carry her back to the coop to tuck her in.

She is a trooper...I honestly cannot believe how determined she is to be in the center of everything. I was really concerned becuase twice we went out and night and while everyone was in one sleep huddle in the middle..she was always off to her own on a branch. But..if there is food to be found, she dives in the middle of everyone..she gets knocked over and hops right back up..and just keeps ticking..she is growing..and just so cute. I WISH I could find out what to do for that leg...it is obvious it is bent funny and I just don't know...but I am happy she is doing so well.

The favorite ones are always the hurt ones, that's just the way it is. I have a Silkie mix hen, Blondie, that isn't acting right. Her brother, Bella ( yah, great guy name I know) recently died, he was acting the same way she was. She is going to need some special care for awhile I'm thinking. I also have a Buff Orpington hen that a dear friend gave me, she has a place on her head where the chickens had pecked her, I think they got some of her brain (

), because she moves her head around funny and can't see all that great. She is such a love.
