Is this the kind of rust-colored patching that portends a male in an EE?

I'm learning so much from you all. Is this the kind of colouring that counts as red/rust spots, and are they in the right place? (4wk old EE for reference, and threw in a pick of the comb for good measure!)

I'd still wait on this one. I do see some red coming through on the wings but there's also some red in other locations which could mean the pattern will even out as it gets older.
This one and my definite-cockerel have the same low croaky voice...does that indicate anything?

Nope, not in chickens. In ducks, the voice does matter but chickens make all sorts of noises. The only thing that would be definitive is a crow. And sometimes even hens crow (though that is rare and usually an older hen without a rooster in the flock).
