My personal view on the issue is that there should be more strict rules for getting certified organic, but for the government to tell us and everyone else how we can raise our birds is, in my opinion, ridiculous. The more government involves itself in business, the more we'll be paying for it. Look at what they did to the oil industry in America. (I know this is completely unrelated, but the message remains the same.) They put regulations on it in the supposed hopes of saving the environment, and just ended up suffocating the industry. I think the chicken industry could go down the same path if they pass this bill. They, like with the oil, would have a good ideal cause for the bill, but I think it could end up putting just a little too much regulation on private businesses, big and small, across the nation.
