Is this too far?

Maybe breeds that lay brown eggs are larger than the white egg layers?
116 sq. in. for brown hens and only 101 sq. in. for white hens sounds racist to me.

Yes some white hens may be bigger than brown hens but the majority of brown layers down here seem to be larger than white layers. They are also often referred to as just Brown Hens and White Hens where I live.
It didn't say what color eggs and some white hens are bigger then some brown hens.

Just going by color is racist.

White layers in commercial operations are usually Leghorns. Leghorns are little chickens. Brown egg layers are larger chickens.

Taking away the right to do laying inducement practices will undoubtedly turn a 2 year lifespan of a layer into a 1 year lifespan consequently killing more hens in the long run. These piecemeal legislation attacks always have the opposite effect.

Leave the chicken business to the professionals.

Last year they passed 40,000 new laws and this year they will probably pass 80,000 new laws to try and fix the 40,000 from last year.

``(4) `Eggs from caged hens' to indicate that the egg-laying hens from which the eggs or egg products

were derived were, during egg production, housed in caging devices that either--

``(A) do not contain adequate environmental enrichments; or

``(B) do not provide the hens a minimum of 116 square inches of individual floor space per brown hen

and 101 square inches of individual floor space per white hen.'';
