Is this TOO much of a fluctuation in temp?

I'm trying to get the temp stabilized in my homemade bator. Right now I'm see it go from 98.8 - 102.4 and the humidity is between 50% - 51%. Am I OK on the temp fluctuation or should I do something about it?

do you have more the 1 thermometer in the incubator? That sometimes lets you know just what is going on! I use a candy thermometer...GOOD LUCK!

I have two small canning jars full of water with lids in there. I have a candy thermometer. I'll put that in there. So, you think it's possible that the temp is not actually swinging quite as much then?

I have had similar temp variations with little problem at all.
