Is this too much ventilation?

My grandpa always said 'As much air as possible. Too much is when a piece of down dances.'

I interpreted it as big old holes and roosts that are out of the draft. My 9x9 coop for 13 has 3x4 mesh window and 25 four inch holes along the top.

What is the sq footage then 2"x8'.?

2x96 = 192sqin = 1.3sqft

When I asked the question, I had 4"x72" which 72" is 6' I was told it was 2 sq feet. So I figured it was by 144" which comes out to 2 sq.

4x72 = 288sqin = 2sqft

Thank you. My flock consists of 11 australorps and 4 barred rocks and the ability of these breeds to handle cold weather was the deciding factor for me. I am also going to incorporate a heat lamp on the very cold nights(0F or below) to help.

Do not put a heat lamp into your coop. That’s a major fire hazard.
